Downloading weather files from Predictwind however was a more tedious procedure, and allthough having 5 bars satellite contact it took around 12 mins to download a 3,7kb weatherfile (only requested parameter was wind from PWG for 48hrs). Since the price is slightly over 1Euro/min this was a very expensive weatherfile!
The file though is easy to read and taking down 2 files/day during our passage it´s accuracy was very convincing. With every new file the ships actual position (from the GPS of the Iridium Go!) is marked on the weathermap,a very good feature.
I will contact Predictwind support and further clarify the teadious procedure of downloading weatherfiles and revert on the blog.
