On a mountainridge in the outer part of the bay she encountered an angelshark. They swam together for a while the shark seemingly not bothered by Mercedes swimming close and touching it´s tail.
The angelshark was under heavy pressure from the fishing industry until early this millenium and is now sharing the destiny of many other species on planet earth being endangered.
It grows up to 2mtrs and is found in subtropical/tropical waters from 1-150mtrs depth. Being very well camouflaged it preys on other fishes and molluscs with a big mouth and sharp teeth. It´s known for biting divers who come to close or touches it´s tail....
