Starting up my endless night watch I decided to use the designated Helmsman minder. It gives you an alarm every 10 minute for a look out and engineinstrument check. After a couple of hours with this sleep deprivator I thought I would go into delirium realising what a good torturte method this must be.

Subsequently I changed strategy setting my alarmwatch on 30 minutes letting the radar/AIS warning system take care of safety in between. It worked out fine and the radar/AIS systems proved to be very reliable.
