We made landfall in Graciosa around lunchtime. The island is located just a few nautical miles NW of Lanzarote and had "islandstatus" only 8 years ago. The whole area is a nature reserve and you can only anchor in Playa Francesa on the southcoast. The bay is beautiful, the bottom sand with good holding, and well protected for prewailing winds from NE. You can beachland your dinghy and walk to the village (2,5km) but the tide is around 2mtrs so that means carry your dinghy high upon the beach.
We took the dinghy all way to the village which is a 20mins ride but in fair weather only. In the depth of the port where the ferries land there´s place for dinghies and then you are in Caleta de Sebo-the capital of Graciosa. This genuine and very charmy village has some restaurants and 2 supermarkets with all necessities.
