Having purchased Starlink Mini for internet with reasonable speed also out at sea (Iridium is for weather/e-mails only and very expensive) it was time to have it installed. First we spent a whole day setting up the software and purchasing a subscription. Once set up we could use the Starlink App to find out where reception was best (there´s a function in the app to measure dataspeed while receiving). Preliminary thinking the flybridge would be the best place, our test showed much better reception on the davit of the solarpanels.
To have the antenna installed on the davit took us some days with drilling also in stainless (drills of cobolt required) and taking the powercable into the boat through the ransom of the stern sealing with Sikaflex. Since the Starlink Mini has both antenna and modem in the "antennadish",the powercable is the only connection you need to bring inside the boat.
