I came back to Lofoten February 7 for a combination of surgerywork and doing some jobs/checking up on Dora Mac. She has managed so far, well looked after by Alf Brekken a Lofoten entrepreneur living on a peninsula close by overlooking the harbour and Dora Mac.
Some storms (but no hurricanes thanks god) have passed by and fenders have been smashed but replaced. Except for some minor scratches in the paint no major damage.
I started preparing for next season changing impellers (J.D and genset), all waterfilters (domestic water and watermaker) and purchase of the ordinary stuff needed for every year servicework. I also did a dive on Dora Mac overlooking status of antifoul, propeller and anodes. Except for anodes on the bowthruster and near the propeller, all was in good condition, meaning no haul out is needed this year(anodes will be replaced by me diving).
Upon my return weather was great and difficult to understand how strong winds from northwest could be so hard on Dora Mac making her squeeze and smash several fenders.
