Follow the link below for a short film diving Sardinia.
We spent a couple of days anchored on the east side of Caprera island in the bay of Cala Portese.
Well within range for the dinghy is Punta Coticcio which is a well renowned divesite on Sardinia and by many considered to be top 10 of divesites in the Mediterranean.
We spent two days diving here and found a variable underwater landscape with good visibilty but scarce marinelife.
A mixture of both of us being spoiled from diving The South Pacific as well as the Red Sea,wrong time of season, and a Mediterranean without coralreefs as well as low density of planktons (less nutritious) made us somewhat disappointed in terms of marine life diversity. A contributing factor is probably also overfishing which is a sad reality for large parts of our oceans.
The be anchored in Cala Portese in complete solitude though must be considered luxury though in this part of the world (one pro of cruising wrong season)
