Coming in to Stockholm Wasahamnen ("Wasa Harbour") is a very nice and central place to moore. It´s just beside Stockholms amusementpark and the most popular museum of Stockholm-the Wasamuseum. Moreover it´s just 5 minutes walk from tomorrows birthday party.
On the peninsula where Wasahamnen is located loads of monuments are named after Gustav Wasa.
He became king of Sweden 1521 after liberating Stockholm from the Danish and having revenge for the Stockholm Bloodbath throwing the Danish king Christian the Tyrant out (named Christian the Great in Danish history books).
It´s a 20mins beautiful walk to the central parts of Stockholm.
