Early this week three surgery collegues embarked Dora Mac in Stamsund. Encountering the worst weather so far this season with southwesterly galewinds gusting 35 knots and 4meter seas,we made landfall again in Henningsvaer. Being well protected from southerly winds and swell this is a good place for waiting out bad weather.
Moreover it´s a charmy fishingvillage with a bunch of good cafeterias, pubs and restaurants. Having two Norwegian sailbums as neighbours sharing a beer or two in the evenings made this second stay in Henningsvaer a great time.
As seen from the picture Henningsvaer has it´s own soccer pitch quite recently built on the southern part of the island. It has gained international attention for being one of the most beautiful football courts on earth and has been used for marketing by FIFA as well as for commercials by loads of companies.
