Cruisingguides-a thing of the past ?

To find your way into a protected anchorage in the archipelago in darkness is difficult and with electronic charts only-impossible.
Fortunately Dora Mac´s library contains cruising guides and pilotbooks. The one describing the eastcoast archipelago was originally made in the sixties and of invaluable help approaching an unknown anchorage.In darkness though, you need to be with the book on the flybridge frequently helped by a handheld searchlight.
Since this guide was made (by Åke Ameén personally visiting all anchrages) I´m not aware of any cruisingguide made of the same calibre.
I guess it´s just to tedious and timeconsuming in a time where "time is money" is one of all phrases we live with.
