During our tour along the Swedish coast we have noticed the signal on the VHF getting weaker and weaker. Crossing over to Gotland the signal was stronger on the 5W handheld VHF than on the 25W mainstation.

After a trip up to the top of the mast Mercedes took a pic of the VHF antenna and I decided to take it down.

Dismounting the antenna and checking the connection there were clear signs of corrosion. After cleaning and WD-40 we can hear Stockholm Radio and it`s securitè messages clearly again.
