Diesel Duck 462 after 5 years and 10.000Nm-major repairs(trawlerfans)

For the trawlerinterested I will list all important repairs performed during my 5 years. The major breakdown so far was the John Deere stainless exhaustelbow where cracks developed giving a leak incapacitating the engine. This was during a gale in Paros,Greece spring 2016. It was temporarely repaired by welding and later Seahorse Marine built a new elbow welded in while in Cartagena/Spain 2017(pictures).
Allmost all pumps onboard have been replaced during these 5 years(except bilge pumps). On the picture the saltwater washdown pump for windlass replaced 2018.
Below comes a boring list from all repairs during my years onboard. Hopefully though it could be interesting for a trawlerfan. It strikes me when doing the list what a lot of repairwork through the years. Maintainance,service and repairs is almost like a fulltime job...
Repairs 2015:
-12 v batteries for J.D and genset replaced for new 2x2 Optima 50ah startbatteries
-Xintex propane fume detector replaced for loss of power
2016:
-Membranes x 3 on Village Marine watermaker replaced due to low waterproduction
-Victron Multi 24/3000/70 inverter taken out for repair at Victron agent in Marmaris
-Raymarine DSM 300 fishfinder/depthsounder integrated in E120 system replaced for malfunction
-John Deere saltwaterpump leaking and replaced
-John Deere exhaustelbow leaking and temporarely repaired
-Domestic freshwater piping in engineroom heavily leaking and totally replaced
-GCF fuelpolishfilter not working,replaced by Griffin fuel polish system
-John Deere mechanical fuelpump leaking and replaced
-Raymarine E120 software creating problems. Updated with new software on spec SD card
-Nav lights SB and Port cracked and replaced
2017:
-Indication of dirt in cruisetank.Opened,dried out and cleaned (only small amounts of debris)
-Exhaust elbow on Northern Lights genset cracked and replaced by new stainless elbow.
-Domestic freshwaterpiping by hotwatertank leaking and replaced
-Floatswitch for sumppump aft cabin failing and replaced
-Gulper sump pump failing in aft cabin replaced for Jabsco sumpump
-Engineroom ventilation fan failing and replaced by spare
2018:
-Leak from coachroof into pilothouse identified and sealed
-Saltwater washdown pump failure. Pump replaced
-Carburettor Sigmar dieselheater failing and replaced
-Icom VHF slaveunit on flybridge failing and repaired
-Icom SSB radio transmission failure. Sent to Swedish Icom tested allright. Grounding rebuilt
-Splendide washingmachine handle failure causing electric failure. New handle installed
2019:
-Fueltank leaks through deteriorating gaskets. Gasket replacement all fueltanks
-Throughhull breakdown/corrosion blackwatertank aft cabin. New throughhull welded in.
-Domestic freshwaterpiping leaking in engineroom and replaced
-Newly installed Eberspächer Airtronic D5 heating unit failure. Taken out,serviced and repaired.
-Domestic freshwater pump failure. Pump replaced with new Jabsco pump
-Cruisair pumpmotor failure. Pumpmotor replaced for spare.
So there we are. Next post will also contain some more pictures.The frequency of breakdowns and repairs differs. Some periods are tranquile, and sometimes you wonder if Murphy is sleeping beside you...
