Scorpionfishes we both saw also close to the beach were people were swimming and playing. Allthough not fatal to step on, the extreme pain from it´s poison (a neurotoxin ) will last up to 12hrs. The tourist catamarans in the area are probably more dangerous. Overcrowded with guests and with loud music they cruise around the area in high speed not able to hear if you try to call the attention. To be overrun by one of those is a threat one should take seriously if snorkeling the area.

AJ and Jenny from S/Y Seas the Day came over one evening for a drink. They crossed the Atlantic in January and never had winds less than 25kts and seas between 2,5-4mtrs. It was interesting to hear their experiences from sailing a catamaran in rough circumstances. Allthough downwind it doesn´t seem to be a nice experience (probably not onboard Dora Mac neither in those circumstances).
