Customs and immigration is located in Nelson´s Dockyard in English Harbour. We needed to clear out of Antigua and so also visited Nelson´s Dockkyard. If Antigua is mainly small white beaches with loads of resorts, Nelson´s Dockyard is something different. Located in English Harbour the British noticed that their naval ships survived hurricanes when anchored in this enclosed and well protected bay, and in the early 18th century Royal Navy started to use this as a base for their warships of the Caribbean Naval Squadron. Lord Nelson was doing service here 1784-87  and gave the place it´s name.
Today there´s a marina located in the dockyard and abundant service for yachts. Prices are not attractive for boatworks in Antigua but almost everything can be done here.
Back in Catamaran Marina we moved Dora Mac to the fuel dock and 2.700ltrs of diesel was reserved taxfree for Dora Mac.
Mandatory is having your outbound clearance documents for taxfree fuel in which case the price is roughly 1Usd/litre. The filling procedure was a bit demanding since we had no assistance and Mercedes needed to be located with a VHF in the fuel central to guide me through the filling procedure spreading fuel between Dora Mac´s 6 fuel tanks. Once ready we finalized our bills and headed out to sea.
Dominica-here we come !
