Having a university degree in fine arts she made career as creative director on an advertising agency in Madrid but after years of hard work and stress she left for blue water cruising.
Joining a Canadian catamaran in Puerto Vallarta/Mexico she spent the last decade cruising the Pacific, the Indian Ocean to South Africa finally joining a French boat from South Africa to Brasil.
We met on a crewsite (Findacrew) and having a desire for high latitude cruising Mercedes joined me on Dora Mac in arctic Norway before having to depart from the country now in May.
We were together trying to cross the Norwegian border by car now in early May but due to the covidsituation and very strict regulations in Norway, Mercedes was not allowed to enter into Norway.
That was the reason for me having to depart Norway singlehanded and once making landfall in Gothenburgh Mercedes joined me and Dora Mac in Öckerö.
Being born and raised on the seaside of the northwest coast of Spain(Galicia), Mercedes is used and dependent on sunsets with the sun dropping in the sea. Subsequently we decided to start our cruising this year going through the archipelago of the Swedish westcoast where the sun dips into Kattegatt at sunset.
On the eastcoast on the other hand , the sun drops into the forrest at sunset
