From a cruisers perspective there´s always a "cala" that is protected from the current wind but in high season all protected anchorages are very crowded.
In a crowded Cala Sahona we managed to drop anchor at 12mtrs far out in the bay on sand with good holding. The bays are open and swell rolling in from the sea is part of cruising here. Subsequently we left our paravanes launched which is a very efficient way to stay comfortable in a bay with disturbing swell.
The backside is of course the risk of paravanes getting hit in a crowded bay with lot´s of activity and traffic. In nighttime we have lanterns hanging from the booms.
Waking up having a morningbath in 26 degrees crystal clear water is as always marvelous.
Beaches are best reached by paddleboard since there´s no place for dinghies and landing the beach in swell can be a wet experience.
