Yesterday we came into Aneytioum,or( "Anatom" as it is nicknamed in English),the southernmost island in Vanuatu.Anelghowat bay on the southwest corner is a beautiful secluded bay, very well protected and without swell. We dropped anchor around 5 o´clock in the evening, saw some of the local people in their ancient canoes and had a very good dinner. The island is very green and lush and some parts looked like rainforrest. After a good nights sleep we took a bath, had breakfast and left at 9 o´clock in good tradewinds of 15kts from SE.Just after leaving the bay we saw a humpback whale quite close to port, that jumped and played around for 10 minutes.
At this very moment we are goosewingsailing, moon in zenith, march behind/venus ahead, and southern cross to port.We have 70Nm left to go to Lifou, the island in the middle of Loyalty Islands/New Caledonia, and expect to do landfall slightly after sunrise.
