Leaving Napp way to late meaning landfall in darkness, at least the forecast promised no snowing.
Allthough odd to manouver Dora Mac from a flybridge full of snow it´s allways a great feeling coming out to sea on the first tour of the year with all systems working.
Heading through Nappstraumen in headseas from 25-30kts of wind I had the tidal stream with me. It created some very nasty seas and taking spray all over Dora Mac I had my first experience of icing the superstructure, pilothouse and windows. Passing through narrow straits and loads of islands south of the Ballstad peninsula needed full attention on the radar and 3 hours after departure I made landfall in Gravdal where Dora Mac is now moored until haulout March 22.
