July 22 at 17.30 local time we crossed the polar circle and came in to the arctic zone of the northern hemisphere. The location of the polar circle is marked by a monument as seen on the picture.
This means we are now in the land of the midnight sun and in an arctic climate. Currently we are having hot summerweather and apart from the sun never setting below the horizon little is of course noticed from entering another climatzone. Moreover global warming has had it´s effects up here as in the rest of the world and perhaps even more notable since the glaciers are melting being reduced in size over time.
