Today upon my last visit on Dora Mac for this time nature showed it´s bad side.Northwesterly winds of 45kts gusting 55kts with heavy snowmixed rain put a hard strain on Dora Mac and her fenders. Several of them have already been replaced and I hope the new ones will manage better.
The classical "ballfenders" used by the fishermen seems to manage best. None of them have broken while 4 fancy fenders from boatshops have broken so far,not to mention fenderprotection that is ripped into pieces.
I can just hope that DM will hang in there another month until the winterstorms are over. As usual when taking photos of strong windconditions,reality is not transmitted through the photographs.
