After some days of bicycling beautiful Vlieland and receiving Carolina with boyfriend Alex we headed out on Wadenzee (the waters inland of the Frisian islands) bound for Enkhuizen.

For most cruisers Wadenzee would be exotic and challenging with it`s shallow waters scattered with sandbanks. Having focus on the tide is mandatory allthough many Dutch sailors spend time on the sandbanks deliberately waiting for high water to continue.

All over Wadenzee you see the classical Dutch sailships with it`s centerboards able to rise if stuck on a sandbank.
