I´m back in Stockholm and Dora Mac left to her destiny.
She has been conserved for arctic winter (hopefully...) with all canvas and sails dried, folded and taken inside. Dinghy stored sideways on bathplatform ,nav.electronics, outborder, diveequipment stored inside and covers raised over flybridge and cockpit.
Whole domestic watersystem have been winterized with non toxic antifreeze (including water on deck, wipers, washmachine, wipers, toilets and sumpboxes). Carheaters have been connected in aft cabin, engineroom and saloon together with dehumidifier. Cruisetank has been emptied and diesel treated with Grotamar.
Extra mooringlines have been added and fenders evenly distributed and adjusted. Last weekend a snowstorm passed with winds gusting 44kts from northwest (worst direction) but DM managed well allthough all fenders took a hard beat. Seaway is not a problem here but strong winds from northwest are, should they reach storm or hurricaneforce. This year in February a hurricane passed the area, but this is not every year and we can only hope for the best.
The owner of the marina (Alf Brekken) lives close by and will keep an eye on the boat. I will be back in February (if nothing exceptional happens) and hopefully DM will still remain in good shape by then.
