After some days in Mahon we headed to the north coast of Menorca and the protected bay of Cala Fornell.
As in all the Baleares, anchoring is forbidden (except in the very depth of the bay) but moorings are plentiful. To book a mooring you have to log in to a hopeless online booking system. After many attempts we managed to book a mooring for 10hrs to the price of 84Euros !
This was all rectified once in Cala Fornell when we had human contact with the harbourmaster who could verify our payment and gave us 2 nights on our chosen mooring.
The north coast of Menorca has a large population of lobsters and several restaurants focus on making delicious lobster menues.
Day after our arrival S/Y Sonora made landfall crewed by Manoel and Monica from Vigo in Galicia.
Monica and Manoel are sailingfriends of Mercedes and they attended our wedding in Stockholm last year.
I took the dinghy to assist with mooringlines amazed by Sonora, a drop dead beautiful Oyster 72.
They picked up some friends in the village and then generously invited us all for Lobster á La Fornell.
After a delcious lunch we took our dinghys to S/Y Sonora to see it´s interior and have a drink.
The Oyster sailboats have a striking reputation and it´s easy to see why
