Drawaqa Island close to Manta Ray resort on the
southern tip of Naviti was a gem.The anchorage was well protected from
prevailing tradewinds ,and no swell during our visit. The resort was a true
backpacker place but very charmy with it´s main building on top of a hill with
view over the beaches on both sides and a breathtaking sunset. The day after
arriving we went to Tokatokaunu pass at high tide and spent 15-20mins snorkeling
with a Manta ray.The ray didn´t seem to bother and it was possible to swim very
close.John took some nice pictures that hopefully will be possible to present on
the blog.
Yesterday we arrived at Nanuya Lai Lai in the
northern Yasawas(also famous as the "Blue Lagoon"from the film with Brooke
Shields).Today the wind has been very strong around 35kts gusting 40,and we
spent the day ashore with a walk over the hills for bananacake at Lo´s tea
place. It´s a very beautiful anchorage and tomorrow will be a day for
diving.
