The morning offered similar circumstances with howling wind being hard on Dora Mac´s anchor and we weighed anchor heading west to Santo Antao and the bay of Tarrafal. The passage between Sao Vicente and Santo Antao, again exposed us to winds gusting 40kts and breaking seas but once under protection of the mountains of Santo Antao (1982mtrs) we came into calm circumstances. For the first time in two weeks the wind was not constantly howling.
Heading up in the bay we dropped anchor just south of the village. This anchorage is deep close to land so we needed to drop anchor at 15mtrs leaving us quite close to the beach in leeward. The bottom is sand with good holding and being alone there´s plenty of swinging room.  What a relief to have an end to two weeks of howling wind.
