Prices are unfortunately adapted to European standard (Dutch owner) but standard of the marina is acceptable. The floating bar is a nice place attracting not only sailors but also lot of the local people.

The major drawback this time of the year is the alltime howling wind. With enforced tradewinds funneled between the mountains winds are constantly up to 30kts gusting 35 bringing lot´s of sandy dust on the boat. Swell is also all time present and chafe on mooringlines and dampers is enormous. Many boats have broken mooringlines in this marina.

Marina staff are nice and helpful and in general people in Mindelo are smiling and happy. Crime has not been an issue for us so far.

Clearing in and out is of course mandatory but straightforward and uncomplicated. All in all Mindelo has been a positive experience now reaching an end.
