In darkness again

Last 6-8hrs on Hanöbukten the wind picked up to around 25kts from the east. Since the fetch is the whole southern Baltic Sea from Poland to Sweden and with relatively shallow waters sea state can be demanding with steep waves and short periods. Launching the paravanes was not a good idea close to port and with difficult retrieval when making landfall on a windward coastline. We just had to stand the rolling making a mess onboard
Moreover I had promised Mercedes we would not make landfall in the little fishingport of Brantevik in darkness again and now we did just that.
Surfing in downwind seas helped by the leading lights into port helmsman work was demanding being on flybridge passing the narrow entrance. Once into calm waters inside the first wave breakers there´s only short time to reduce speed and turn to staboard into the protected small inner basin.
It all went well but these nonprotected small fishingports deserves respect (and probably local knowledge) when in windward and approached in darkness.
