Reval

Tallinn is a charmy city from medeival times. It was founded by the German merchant congregation called Hansan.
Hansan had it´s headquarters in Lubeck, a German city by the southern Baltic Sea and several cities in the Baltic Sea region was founded and controlled by Hansan.
They named it Reval and between the 16th to the 18th century Reval was under Swedish control. Today it´s the capital of Estonia which is a free country since the fall of the Soviet Union in the mid nighties.
The name Tallinn though, remains since the Soviet era.
