The day after arriving San Miguel we rented a car to drive to Teide and see the north part of Tenerife.
Mercedes had tailored a lovely day program and first we drove up to the clouds and as far as we could to Teide, which means 2.500mtrs up. Here you reach the base station for a cabin up to the top but we learned that you have to book a ticket for this cabin months in advance !!
Nevertheless we passed through three different climate zones all way up to the snow and then down through forrests to the north part of the island. All in all a beautiful drive and we also stopped for some wine tasting in a garden belonging to a farm doing their own wines. The garden was beautiful and lot´s of marketing for the wines but none of us was very impressed by the four wines tested.
After a long drive back we ended up in Los Christianos on the southcoast for dinner and back on the boat at midnight drop dead tired but with a great impression of Tenerife which is far more than hotels, beaches, clubs and party.
