Visiting the Winterpalace and Hermitage is rewarding, no doubt. It has more art than the Louvre in Paris and if you would look one minut at each subject of this museum you need six years!
The backside is the industry behind with loads of people from all over the world landing with buses and with limited time being stressed using their mobiles as machineguns for photographs. Their guides sounds like robots while rushing through all important exhibitions and the atmosphere is all but harmonic.
The touristindustry is enormous today, and if millions of people travelled the world in the middle of the last century, today we are talking billions.
