Heading back to Lofoten after  great easter holidays in Bodö I had to wait out a gale before departure. Not until late evening was circumstances calm enough for leaving the dock.

That meant navigating the archipelago north of Bodö in darkness making the radar essential. Only problem this night was frequent snowdrifts reducing visibility significantly at the same time as dense snowdrifts (as seen on the right side of the radarpicture) greatly impairs the function of the radar. I was lucky though not having any dense snowdrifts in narrow passages and the Vestfjord was passed in calm conditions.
