In the Baltic Sea 54:23.00N 10:34.00E

Departing Brunnsbuttel after breakfast passage of the Kiel Canal took a bit more than eight hours. Large cargoships pass frequently and staying in the outer margin of the canal is mandatory for smaller crafts. Subsequently manual steering is most convenient. Reed´s Nautical Almanac(as seen on the picture) joined us on flybridge while on passage of the canal. This is the last part it covers. This book is really what they say: "The Yachtsmans Bible". Everything is there. Coming to Holtenau locks we had to wait an hour for clearance before finally plowing through the waters of our well known Baltic Sea . Half an hour later we tied up in Laboe, a well known and very charmy bathing resort with it´s beaches facing Kieler Bucht. Dora Mac will be left here for two weeks. Hopefully I will find some crew to join me the last part to homeport in Trosa(400Nm).If not the last leg will be singlehanded. |
