An ever ongoing process

Ending up with a surgery assignment here in Lofoten, tomorrow it´s time to go home.
I left homeport late May and except for travelling from the boat to surgery assignments in Scotland and Lofoten I have been onboard Dora Mac for 4 months.During this period we have travelled some 2000Nm with family, friends and collegues joining, enjoying the beauty of the Norwegian coastline and it´s very maritime oriented way of life. With a beautiful summer and a well behaving Dora Mac, again this cruise has been all you can ask for. No gain without pain though.
During my solitude periods I have gone into intensive work schedules on Dora Mac. Maintainance, service and repairs are an ever ongoing process, and in this perspective Dora Mac is more of a ship than a boat. Keeping corrosion under control demands regular paintwork and in the engineroom I have a whiteboard keeping serviceschedules up to date. Being back onboard in October for surgerywork, a couple of weeks vacation from Dora Mac will be good.

I´ve used this filmline before but it keeps popping up in my mind. "When I was here I wanted to be there, but when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the djungle" (Martin Sheen ,Apocalypse Now)
