With strong Southerly winds forecast we didn’t want to stay anchored at fort Monroe and so headed along the river to anchor at hospital point in Norfolk. It’s not a bad little anchorage but some local fisherman fills it with crab pots which make it hard to pick a spot to anchor, following the tip we got last year when we watched someone just drag the pot and float out of the scope of their boat we moved one that would have been a problem.
Steve went to the marina near by to ask if we could get rid of the net anywhere and they said there was a skip bin nearby so we took it there to get it off the boat. It made a lovely mess on the deck and in the dinghy! We went ashore on both the Norfolk and Portsmouth sides of the river, mainly to shop of course, we had a mile walk through one of Norfolks ‘historic areas” to an Aldi which is always nice for me 😂.

Jamie and Darren on Rudder Nonsence who were in Deltaville with us turned up, it was nice to see their boat in the water and catch up again.
Steve also met a boat in the nearby Marina who was looking for any boats heading south to chat to and went ashore to meet them while I went to a shop for panic last minute fresh veg etc! There is a narrow weather window we have been watching for a few days, if we're fast and the forecast doesn’t change we should be able to keep ahead of a front we will encounter on the way and get to St Martin in 9 or 10 days!
