We were up early and upped anchor at first light to head south with Tom and Sabrina on honey Ryder, soon we were sailing with mizzen and genoa 🤩
Because the Chesapeake is a large shallow expense of water the waves created are very close together making the sail a rather rolly one, with the genoa flogging on each roll - so we ended up gybing our way south, at times the wind increased and we had a good sail but towards the end the wind dropped and so we motored for the last hour arriving at the Fort Monroe anchorage and anchoring just before 16.30. Tom and Sabrina had a few engine hiccups at the start of the day and had to switch fuel tanks but were fine when under engine after that.
