While we were at Isla Grande we cleaned the bottom or the boat - it never ends! We were still getting the remaining barnacle base marks off the bottom which is slow work however with dive tanks we did get the job done, her bottom is smooth again! I also did some sail repairs for Ken and Grace on Pisces - Its good to be able to help others - they had a small tare in their Genoa and the beading at the bottom and there was a 6 inch tear at the head of the sail where the beading had come away - this put them at risk of the beading tearing from the sail the whole way down - the beading was tricky to repair and i advised them to get it renewed when they arrive somewhere like Shelter bay in Panama.
I also got to kayak into the mangroves this visit - there was no one to go with so I went by myself and had a little adventure, at the far left side of the first lagoon there is a small channel through the mangroves and under a small food bridge,

this leads to another lagoon from which there is another slightly wider channel which goes past some local canoes on the shore to another lagoon at which point I decided to head back, I believe that you can get right the way through the island along these waterways.

A couple of evenings we went ashore to a nearby hotel / bar for a drink and get together, rest of the rally group arrived from Cartagena on Thursday and we managed to say hello everyone before we set off on Friday with 6 other boats for Tintipan in the San Bernardo island Group.
