We had a nice sail from Falmouth to Cawsands and anchored off the beach, there were a couple of other boats anchored but as boats are meant to return to their home berth at night still it's not surprising it was quite quiet although some boats did come for the day. We went ashore and met up with our friends Will, Alyssa and the 3 girls from Moolighting who live nearby, while we sat on benches wrapped up in jumpers and jackets the girls put on wetsuits and went playing in the water, they obviously have forgotten how warm the Caribbean was and didn’t seem to mind the cold at all! It was good to catch up and hear how life had been for them especially with lockdown as Will has not being able to work and Alyssa being redeployed from the community to work in a hospital.
We also met up with Denis on Oriana who came into the anchorage on route to Emsworth, he had arrived in Falmouth the night before we left the Marina but we hadn’t seen him before we left, it was good to hear how his trip had been, he didn’t get any of the fog we got! Due to the forecast strong winds we stayed there 3 nights before setting off for Salcombe.
A rather grey looking Cawsands
