All good on board, we motored for just under six hours in the night when the wind dropped down and went behind. It wasn’t as forecast but this morning the wind is currently 13 kn from 1° and we’re sailing again doing 5 1/2 to 6 kn.

We noticed that a little bird was trying to land on the boat and it managed to land on the back gateway, rested for a short while and then tried to leave a few times but quickly turned back and landed again, then spent a while trying to finding somewhere to settle - it found one of our dorades and then went into the dorade box . Once in there we thought maybe it’ll be able to get a little rest and it was quite quiet for a while before it was trying, unsuccessfully to get out, So we took the vent top bit off and I put my hand in and managed to get it out. We put it in a little basket covered it with a towel for a few minutes and then when it began moving around we uncovered it and it came out of its own accord then flew around a little bit and ended up sitting coming back into the cockpit a couple of feet from me. Now I could take some pictures of it and it was obviously some sort of little swallow, I initially thought it was a house martyn but are very rare in North America, we called it Martin anyway 🤣. In USA there are tree swallows and mangrove swallows and a few other swallow.

After about 3 1/2 hours it decided to fly off and we watched it go and lost sight of it when it dipped low towards the water,  we thought it’s gone in 😱. I was feeling a bit sad about its fate when about 10 minutes later I heard a little chirp and it was sitting there on the deck by the gas bottles, it then made itself comfortable on the toe rail behind the kayak, out of the wind and stayed there for an hour or so while we sailed along checking on it periodically and after a total of about  5 hours we noticed it had gone, hopefully the little swallow will make it it safely to land🤞.

We were motoring sailing again, the forecast shows a big hole in the wind we are in and need to expect to motor for a couple of days 😱🫣.
