33:02.20N 074:19.22W Position at 12.00EST We had a good night all in all and this morning where we had a little bit less wind but we were making good progress heading slightly south east-ish, although we’re weaving our way along and holding of a course as the wind changes. This evening we’ve got about 10 kn of wind from north and so we’re just sailing where we can keep our speed up and she’s actually going quite well we’re currently doing 6 kn with 10.7kts of wind on the beam. The sea is very comfortable it’s lovely and warm. Our AIS isn’t picking up or transmitting very well apparently - yesterday one of the ship we called on VHF was only 7 miles away but couldn’t see us on AIS 😬, it could see us on radar though and we only picked him up about seven or 8 miles away from us, the other ships we’ve picked up between eight and 12 miles away from us so it’s pretty poor and not what we expect so Steve will need to go up the mast at some point and have a look at the connection, but that can wait for calm weather in an nice anchorage. |
