We left Deltaville, headed for fort Monroe and anchored there for a few days, the anchorage is big but lots of boats waiting here for weather window to head south. We anchored near Chris and Amanda on Trumpeter who we met in Deltaville. It was nice to chat and see them again. We went ashore a few times to local shop and stretch our legs, would be great if America had decent public transport but if hasn’t and Ubers etc are expensive so we didn’t go far. Innamorata’s engine water pump has a slight leak so Steve took it off and we found the impeller was broken so he changed it for a spare, we will need to find a new spare one along the way.
While here we had some strong winds blow through and didn’t really feel comfortable, Innamorata dragged her anchor once after a change of direction in wind, we found some rope on it when Steve lifted it! Which was better than the massive piece of fishing net that was wrapped around the chain when we lifted it to move to Norfolk, it made a nice mess of the deck depositing silt, debris and a couple of small crabs 😡, we took it with us to dispose of responsibly unlike its original owner!
