We spent a week at Culatra and then headed back to Portimao and anchored near Ferragudo for a few days to be nearer the main facilities as we wanted to do some laundry and shopping before we head off again. The river bed stays fairly deep until close to the shore so from the boat we had locals not far away collecting shellfish at low water.

 

After a couple of days it was time to move again, this time we intended to anchor off Lagos and explore around there but the swell was too uncomfortable so after anchoring for an hour or so we headed into the anchorage at the entrance of Alvor.
