We left Governor’s Harbour mid morning for the 10 mile sail south to Alabaster Cove, as it was only a short distance and because we are lazy 😬 we only put genoa and mizzen up but still had a fast sail and got to the anchorage by 12.30 and anchored midway between the other 2 boats already anchored there. With a sandbar that's exposed at low tide joining Pelican island to the main island it's a stunning anchorage. I loved that there were pelicans on the island and walking about on the sand bar at low water, it's named well.
The fist day we were there we went ashore - unfortunately it wasn’t very sunny but the views were fantastic.

THe following morning was lovely, sunny and calm so we decided to blow the paddle boards up - they didn't get unpacked last year as we were always on the move or it was too windy so I didn't hold much hope for me being able to stand up on it ,but having knelt on it until we were in the shallows i managed to stand and made it ashore for another walk.

The water was spectacular and crystal clear
.
By now our friends Tom and Janine on Kismet had arrived and we paddled over to them and Janine joined us for a paddle and a walk on the beach.
The next day we went for a slightly longer paddle with Janine and saw rays and a nurse shark in the shallows. we also went for a snorkel with them along Pelican island which was good, there wasn’t much coral but there were a good few fish especially Angel fish.
We Stayed 4 days, We are loving Eleuthera with its beautiful uncrowded anchorages, the 2 boats that were there when we arrived left the following day and 3 came in including Kismet so there were only 4 boats in this large anchorage 😍 unlike the 315 in Georgetown at the moment - Yes someone did a boat count and there are really that many boats there!
Janine took these from Kismet.
Lovely sunset

and Sunrise the morning they left.
