We left Peter Island early and sailed over to Tortola to get some provisions for Christmas before heading towards Virgin Gorda, the wind was from the east and we were tacking, we could see rain heading our way and decided to anchor in the lee of Beef Island just as the first rain squall arrived, once the wind settled I went for a snorkel to check the anchor as Steve said it felt like rock when he dropped the anchor! We couldn’t see the bottom as the light was poor and when I took a look around there really isn’t any sand, it's all rubble and rocks and yes the anchor had hooked a rock! by now it was dusk and so we decided to stay put for the night.
