Today we gave in to some Dutch friends who are in Alvor and keep messaging us to ask when we are visiting? We set off after low water and sailed the sort distance west to Alvor and came in at half tide to ensure there was enough water for us – we picked our way up avoiding the sand banks that in poor light would not be so easy to see and anchored next to our friends in the narrow channel.
