The sky this morning

Life on board is quite difficult, we continue to sail about 60° apparent off the wind trying to get as east as we can.

An idea of the angle we are living at until we get to St Martin!

The wind's been up to about 20 kns, it’s manageable but uncomfortable we’re both hot, sticky, smelly and tired, I feel like my bum is just bruised and batted from sitting down. It’s sunny and with the enclosure up it’s like being in a greenhouse all day, you can’t open the sides or the front because you just get a bucket of saltwater thrown at you although the back is open there’s no real draft coming in there. I’ve just put supper on, Steve’s got shepherds pie and I’ve got a vegetable shepherds pie thing 🥵a hot meal is about the last thing that either of us wants! I just couldn’t cope with the thought of trying to make something or do something else so hey Ho we’re both probably get even hotter and stickier eating it.

We’ve got about 270 miles to go and should get in on Friday morning. And all I can say is thank goodness I never plan to make this trip again.
We have 3 reefs in the main and a small genoa.

Today I’ve come up with a mantra which is, be brave, be strong be like Pip Hare 🤣. Just thinking of what the Vendee and the Golden Globe sailors and other people who do long races and things must go through the whole time it makes it seem really quite benign, the weather isn’t bad it’s just noisy and uncomfortable!
