24:34.545N 075N57.291W We left Rock sound at first light, as with most mornings recently it took a little while for the wind to pick up enough to sail so we motored for the first couple of hours and then had a good sail until 11 am when a rain shower passed and the wind shifted to exactly where we wanted to go for a short while, that didn't last long and by the end of our trip it was much morse favourable than forecast and we didn't have to tack as we had anticipated initially. ![]() On route we chatted on the VHF to 2 boats we had met in America, both heading in the opposite direction to us but it was good to say hello and have a bit of a catch up. Little San Salvador is a cruise ship island - it was brought in 1999 by a cruise ship company for $6million and has ships anchored there 6 days a week, somehow we arrived on the day there wasn’t a cruise ship in - the down side of that is it seems to be when they burn all the rubbish 😬. There is work in progress to build a cruise ship dock there but it didn’t bother us as we anchored at the other end of the Bay. We didn't go ashore but the only other boat there , Steve and Jen on Second Half a Catamaran we had seen on Eleuthera did and came over to say hello, we invited them on board and had a very nice impromptu sundowner with them. Works in Progress ![]() The beach is lined with sunbeds although you can really tell from this picture! the email downsizes them to enable sending which ruins the clarity! ![]() ![]() Cruise ship arriving in the morning after we had left. ![]() |
