25:36.72N 77:43.97W  We went ashore yesterday and found out that there was a Christmas celebration in the park that evening. Eye Candy arrived in the morning so in the evening we all went ashore to see what was happening. It turned out to be the lighting of the Christmas tree and a big occasion for the islanders. A prison officers band from Nassau had come to play for the night and various important islanders made speeches. It was held on an outdoor basketball court with the band at one end, 20 or 30 VIPs sat in front of them and the rest around the sides of the court. It was a huge contrast to where we had just left in America, more like a school’s celebration than an island’s. The locals all seemed to enjoy themselves so we are sure the event was a great success.

In the morning we decided to move on to an anchorage at White Cay on the Eastern side of the Berry Islands. We arrived late afternoon, set the anchor and will go ashore tomorrow.
