Great Bridge to North River

Another early start - the clocks changed here last weekend and so its light earlier but the sun is down by 5pm, we left the dock at 06.45 and went over to Atlantic Yacht Basin to fill up with water, the dock master was happy for us to stay a little while after we had filled up and chat with him until it was time for us to leave to get the first bridge 2 miles away at 08.30, from there we had an hours trip to the next timed bridge at 09.30 after that there aren’t any more opening bridges so we don't have to time it, there are some shallow areas and we have read reports of boats hitting the bottom in an area near the town of Coinjock so we kept a very close eye on the depth sounder for most of the day! In the end the least water we had under the keel was 0.8m so not too shallow. We anchored for the night in North river near near where we have anchored twice before and had another quiet settled night.
