Passage to Great Inagua - the first 24hours

We left just after 1pm having done a final wash - the dryer was in great demand with about 4 loads waiting to go in it so we hung the laundry up on the boat to dry, said our goodbyes and set off, we had to motor for the first few hours as the wind in the wind shadow of Puerto Rico was coming from the NW where we were heading, however as soon as we cleared land we were able to start sailing, it was a little rolly and we had a couple of rain showers but have made steady progress.
