Capitalism won over socialism and for a good reason true socialism now belongs to history.

Todays leftwings focus on woke which is a no brainer to ordinary people and have pushed parts of the dissatisfied middleclass to vote extreme right. At the same time large corporations continue to strengthen their grip over society creating pods of extremely rich people.

I was no believer of conspiracy theories and subsequently it was a great disappointment when it was revealed that Volkswagen was deliberately cheating with the software of their emission system. A solid German multinational company deliberately lying their customers straight in the face ?!

I can´t resist to revert to my Omega Seamaster watch that appears several times on this blog. It works well as a metaphor.  Purchased 2007 it has been repaired for over 2.000Usd during the years (my Certina has been working flawless for 26 years and cost 1/8 of the Seamaster). Omega watches were probably good watches built to last for a lifetime and got a well deserved world reputation. Today it seems as if they have the after sales market as a business idea. The seamaster is supposed to be serviced every 5-7 years and to a cost of around 700Usd. Moreover the bracelet needs to be replaced regularly to a price of 500Usd or you may drop/loose your watch. This is of course nothing you know when you buy the watch.

Flying with British Airways for a work assignment in Scotland they were delayed forcing me to stay in hotel over night and at the same time they lost my luggage .

All in all it cost me 700Usd extra and when I finally reached customer support (through the usual labyrints of robots and algorithms) they agreed to reimburse me. After 6 months with regular contacts with their customer centre in India still no money had been wired. Their excuse- "We have problems to transfer money to Swedish banks". After threatening to bring it further to ECC the money finally arrived. In Sardinia with Dora Mac our neighbour was a British Airways pilot. He told us the case managers get 10% of all cases they manage not to reimburse. British Airways !? One of the worlds major and well established airlines ?!

Former owner of Dora Mac sent me a spare Jabsco engineroom fan from the US to my home adress in Sweden by Fedex. It arrived in Malmö (south Sweden) 70km from my home late May. In July it had still not been delivered. I tried to reach Fedex customer support for several days but was only allowed to speak to a robot who told me it had been delivered. One morning I lost it and screemed to the robot that I wanted to speak to a human. It then connected me to customer support- in Cairo !?

There they promised to look into the case with priority. Another week passed without managing to contact and when I screemed again "I want to speak to a human" it connected me to Fedex Swedish customer support. That exercise was repeated every morning for a week until I threatened with reporting Fedex to ECC and the day after the package was delivered.

Searching in cyberspace Fedex has reputation for not delivering to rural areas since this is costly ?!

Does "greedflation" exist ?

There´s an article in the Guardian presenting firm evidence as well as members of Federal reserve,Central Bank of Europe and even Bank of England admitting "greedflation" is a problem. In the Economist there´s an article saying "Greedflation is nonsense".

Our observation from cruising the world, especially the Mediterranean 2015-17, and 2022-24 is that prices in marinas,supermarkets,restaurants have skyrocketed. That goes also for Turkey that used to be a haven for ordinary cruisers where megayachts now dominate.

Ordinary people in the western world of today are angry. This dissatisfaction is picked up by the far right. A hard working honest professional without capital income is the looser of todays society, no matter high or low salary.

No genious is required to understand that this imbalance will ultimately destroy society. History tells us that when the imbalance is to big there will be a major reset. A reset that will most likely include violence. The enclosed message on the topic from former owner Randal is a good summary.

In the meantime we continue to load money into the wideopen mouth of Dora Mac. Like a bird feeding it´s ever hungry baby bird.
